OUR Story
Growing Readers & Hearts Foundation was created from a deep passion for helping children, teenagers, and families feel seen, supported, and empowered as they learn, grow, and prepare for the future.
Founded by Daniell Augustine Phillips, a children’s book author and early childhood leader, the foundation was built on the belief that education is more than academic success. It is also about confidence, emotional well-being, healthy decision-making, positive relationships, family support, and access to trusted community resources.
Through lived experiences and years of working with children and families, Daniell recognized that many young people face challenges not only with literacy and school readiness, but also with emotional development, safety, guidance, and support during the teenage years. This inspired the creation of programs that nurture the mind, strengthen the heart, support families, and help young people build healthy, safe, and successful futures.
WHAT WE DO
Growing Readers & Hearts Foundation provides charitable and educational programs that support literacy, school readiness, social-emotional development, youth growth, healthy decision-making, and family well-being.

We work with schools, childcare centers, families, educators, volunteers, and community partners to help children and teenagers grow academically, emotionally, and socially. Our goal is to provide young people and families with the knowledge, encouragement, and resources they need to build healthy, safe, and successful futures.
